Birds of Prey Show
An annual tradition at the Steel Horse Rally, the Birds of Prey Show is fun and educational for the whole family. While there is no cost or admission to see the show, donations to the Arkansas Native Plant and Wildlife Center are appreciated. In addition to the show, for a tax deductible donation to Arkansas Native Plant and Wildlife Center, you can have your photo taken with one of these magnificent birds. From owls to hawks to falcons, see and learn about these majestic creatures up close!
Tommy Young is the director of the wildlife center and holds degrees in Ornithology and Wildlife Medicine from Cornell University. He has helped rehabilitate and release back into the wild thousands of animals including 36 bears, 10,000 hawks, 9,000 owls, 22,000 mammals, 44 American Bald Eagles, 36 Golden Eagles. The wildlife center is located near Mena, AR, which makes for a good day-trip motorcycle ride from Fort Smith, AR.
The Steel Horse Rally has events for the whole family.
There will be special activities for kids, including face-painting and the opportunity to “Meet our Heroes” where children can talk to local veterans, law enforcement, and first responders.
