An Official Ride of the 2025 Steel Horse Rally
The Steel Horse Rally is very proud to announce a new organized ride for the 2025 Rally. On Saturday, May 3rd enjoy the natural beauty of Mt. Magazine, as we launch the new Steel Horse Rally 2025 Highest Peak Run. Mt. Magazine is not only an incredible beautiful ride but it is also the highest peak in the state of Arkansas. If you're in from out-of-town, this is a "must ride." You'll enjoy scenic vistas though the major elevation changes. The ride will stop at Mt. Magazine Lodge for lunch. Then we will ride down the North Face of Mt. Magazine and head back to the Steel Horse Rally for the annual Thunder Though the Valley Parade. More information on registration and charitable donations coming soon. This is one of the most memorable rides you will make in Western Arkansas and you will be glad that you were part of the Steel Horse Rally Highest Peak Run.
The route: Check-in for the SHR Highest Peak Run will be at 8 a.m. at the Circle K, 4101 Brooken Hill Dr. (right across the street from McDonalds on Hwy. 71) in Fort Smith, Ark. Kickstands go up at 9 a.m. We will ride south on Hwy 71 to Hwy. 45 East. Then we will turn North on Old Hwy 71 for a beautiful wooded run through Greenwood city square. Then we will head East on Hwy. 10 to Hwy 309 N. to go up the South Face of Mt. Magazine. We will head to the Mt. Magazine State Lodge (where lunch will be available for purchase if you choose). After lunch, we will ride down the North Face of Mt. Magazine on Hwy 309 (Mt. Magazine Scenic Byway) through Paris, AR where you can take a photo in front of the Eiffel Tower during the Springtime in Paris Festival. The ride will turn west on Hwy. 22 west, taking you past the Giant Budweiser Can, then back to Fort Smith. The ride will end in downtown Fort Smith at the Steel Horse Rally, where the Thunder through the Valley Parade stages at 3 p.m. and kickstands go up at 4 p.m. at Riverfront Park, 121 Riverfront Drive, Fort Smith, Ark. Bring your cameras and get ready to capture the natural beauty of the highest point in the state of Arkansas!
